Jamila Khair- The Greater Amman Municipality collected, during Eid Al Fitr Holiday, from Tuesday morning till last Friday evening,14000 tons of wastes which were transported from districts and taken to the transfer station in east Amman before being transported to Al Ghabawi Landfill.
In addition, Al-Hussein Parks received 25,000 citizens during Eid Al Fitr till last Saturday evening, King Abdullah II Parks received 28,000 citizens, Jubaiha Parks received 16,000 citizens, while Queen Rania Parks were visited by 6,000 citizens, noting that GAM had limited the working hours for these parks during the Eid holiday from eight in the morning till ten in the evening.
In a related context, the slaughterhouses department carried out its usual work during Eid Al Fitr holiday to provide the market with different types of meat and to continue the food supply chain, as 7,986 sheep and 397 cows were slaughtered and inspected. 360 tons of fresh vacuum meat were inspected, 72 tons of chilled imported meat was inspected, and 33 tons of fresh fish were inspected, in addition to the slaughtering, processing and packaging of 158,989 poultry birds.
In addition, the quantity of vegetables, fruits and leafy vegetables received at the Central Wholesale Market of the Greater Amman Municipality during the month of Ramadan amounted to about 87 thousand tons, distributed between about 57 thousand tons of vegetables, 25 thousand tons of fruits, and about five thousand tons of leafy vegetables, while the quantity that the market received during Eid Al-Fitr holiday (10-12 last April) included about five thousand tons of vegetables, fruits, and leafy vegetables, distributed among about 3,000 tons of vegetables, two thousand tons of fruits, and 137 tons of leafy vegetables.
