Al Shawarbeh Meets the Head and the Members of Azm Parliamentary Bloc

Jamila Khair- Amman Mayor Yousef Al Shawarbeh, met the head of Azm Parliamentary Bloc, Ayman Abu Haneyyeh, and members of the bloc, with the attendance of the Deputy Mayor of Amman, Mohammad Rasmi Al Qaisi, the Acting City Manager, Engineer Nabil Al Jariri, and the executive staff of  Amman Municipality.

Al Shawarbeh welcomed the visit of  Azm Parliamentary Bloc to theGreaterAmmanMunicipality, which represents real and positive cooperation between the various state institutions.

He said, during the meeting held at Al Hussein Cultural Center, that these meetings are translation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein to develop institutional programs that work to raise the level of services provided to the city of Amman, the capital of the Hashemite Crown, and improve the lives of its citizens, stressing the readiness of GAM to cooperate and work jointly with all state institutions and sectors to serve the capital and the citizen. 

Al Shawarbeh added that this meeting represents an opportunity to shed light on the achievements and services of the Municipality of Amman, which is considered a private service institution with financial and administrative independence, noting that the number of GAM employees is 21,700 .

During the meeting, he reviewed GAM’s strategic plan for the years (2022-2026) in the sectors of planning, health, agriculture, works, financial affairs, regions, environment and community development, which aims to improve and develop the services provided in accordance with the Royal Directives. 

Al Shawarbeh indicated that 62.2% of  GAM’s strategic plan has been completed until the end of 2024, with a commitment rate of 82%.

For his part, Abu Haneyyeh said that this visit comes within the bloc’s program to enhance the consultative and participatory role with state institutions and sectors, in order to achieve the bloc’s vision, according to the highest levels of dialogue and participation, and with the aim of meeting the needs of the Jordanian citizen in line with the royal vision and in a way that contributes to modernizing and developing the system of work and performance

 He stressed that the bloc seeks to support GAM’s efforts through visits and meetings, and to review the legislation and achievements aimed at improving the quality of services provided. 

The visit concluded with an expanded dialogue on many of the topics and issues that were discussed between Azm Parliamentary Bloc, the Mayor of Amman, and GAM executive staff .
