In the midst of this significant historical occasion, when the Jordanian State celebrates its first centenary, which was full of accomplishment, progress, generosity, and pride, Jordan enters its second centenary steadily to complete the construction on what was founded by ancestors and to pursue the path of achievement that established the strong and invincible Jordan under the wise Hashemite leadership.
The Greater Amman Municipality commemorates the bicentennial with a promising and ambitious strategic plan that embodies King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein's vision of achieving inclusive and sustainable development, improving the quality of life for citizens, and guaranteeing citizens' right to access services with high quality, transparency, integrity and justice.
That is why we have pooled our resources to create a plan with the obvious goal of making Amman a resilient, modern, and sustainable city proud of its heritage and nobility.
As a result, we have ensured that the Greater Amman Municipality's strategic plan (2022-2026) focuses primarily on key priority pillars of the city of Amman, most notably public transportation, climate and environmental change, urban planning and strengthening the role of citizenship and community participation. It aims to achieve relevant national goals as well as sustainable development goals, and it is consistent with the world's major developments, challenges, and opportunities, the most important of which are the telecommunications revolution, digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence technologies in all fields.
While expressing my gratitude and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the creation of this plan, I would want to highlight the necessity of the unceasing, concentrated, and focused efforts of all parties concerned to accomplish the goals stated in an effective, efficient, and knowledgeable manner. Additionally, I want to thank all of our collaborators for their excellent and ongoing help in attaining our mutual objectives. I wish everyone luck and that His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein continues to lead our beautiful capital to greater success.
And God is the Arbiter of success
Mayor of Amman
