GAM constructs walking and cycling path in Zahran District

Jamila Khair- The Greater Amman Municipality has constructed a path in the 60 Road in Zahran District, as part of its efforts to promote sport and healthy lifestyles in local communities, and encourage walking and cycling in a safe, outdoor environment.

The path, 500-metre long, was designed according to international design standards.

It includes two separated lanes, a 2.5-metre-wide maroon lane for pedestrians, and a 3.5-metre-wide blue lane for cyclists.

The one allocated for cyclists is marked every 50 metres with bicycle symbols and directional arrows, and  is numbered from 100 to 500 metres.

GAM has marked both sides of the path with white, with a clear separation between the pedestrian and cycling lanes, and dedicated pedestrian crossings on both sides to ensure easy access to nearby residential areas.
