Projects Under Implementation

Expanding the scope of reusing and recycling the Municipality’s solid waste from the total mixed waste (GIZ/KFW)

This project targets residential waste in Amman and aims to reduce the waste sent to the landfill by recycling it through the mandatory separation of residential waste, which consists of paper, cartoon, organic waste, and various kinds of packaging from the exporter and to help develop markets for recycled products and provide incentives for waste recycling. A mechanical-biological organic waste treatment facility will be installed with an initial production capacity of 239 tons per day in a single shift, through which facilities for the production of organic fertilizer will be established. The project also aims to establish a training center for the training and qualifying of the Municipality’s staff and professionals on source classifying and how to treat organic waste and produce fertilizer in the facilities allocated during the period of the project.
