Amman mayor Akel Beltaji met on Thursday a delegation of the Center for Regional Engagement (CRE) and American Student Leaders delegation (part of Olive Tree Imitative Program).
Beltaji briefed on the development of Amman city through history, noting the historical role Jordan played in the Arab and Israeli situation, and its continued influence in the Middle East region, and stressing on the key role of HM Late King Hussein on peace keeping, and the continuous efforts of HM King Abdullah II to achieve security and peace in the region.
Beltaji mentioned the services GAM provides to Amman residents and the projects using renewable energy.
The Olive Tree Initiative is a university-based organization that promotes conflict analysis and resolution through rigorous academic preparation, experiential education and leadership development, and provides students, faculty and community participants with the education, training and experiences needed to better understand, negotiate and resolve conflicts.
