Amman Summer Festival Kicks off in Al Hussein Parks

 Jamila Khair-  The 16th Amman Summer Festival evenings kicked off Friday in Al Hussein Parks, under the patronage of Amman Mayor Yousef Al Shawarbeh. The festival free activities, organised by the Greater Amman Municipality, will continue until July 19.

The launching ceremony was attended by the Mayor Deputy, Muhammad Rasmi Al-Qaisi, the City Manager, Ahmed Al-Malkawi, a number of GAM Council members, and a large number of citizens. 

The activities of the Ammani Evening, held at the main stage, included performances of national poetry and a number of folkloric dances, while in the area designated for children, a theatrical show entitled “The Adventures of Burgi and Shukriyeh” was held, in addition to a cinematic show for children, and a book fair, “reading and distributing books.” 

It is worth mentioning that the Festival’s Ammani evenings have national, cultural and family characteristics and are held in two locations: Al Hussein Parks and Al Jubaiha Parks, noting that free parking has been provided behind the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and free means of transportation into Al Hussein Parks. 

GAM invites citizens to attend the festival activities, which include a market area to display heritage products, crafts, food, in addition to national, folklore performances.
 
The festival aims at enhancing  tourism in the city of Amman, and providing a family atmosphere for citizens and visitors of Jordan, and promoting the concepts of good citizenship by broadcasting positive and awareness messages through the drama performances for adults and children.
