Prime Minister Adnan Badran will inaugurate on August 24, the Amman Tourist Beach – Sweimeh project, at the eastern shore of the Dead Sea. Located to the south of Sweimeh village, the project is built on an area of 20 dunums, and conducted by the Greater Amman Municipality.
It aims at providing special retreat for Amman’s residents, and neighboring governorates, in a way to enhance the social and economic development in the region. The project also promotes the touristic aspect of Amman, which was emphasized through fruitful partnership between the private sector and civil societies.
What makes the project interesting is that it comes at the time when the Dead Sea witnesses further interest from Jordanians and Arab visitors to the Kingdom. Hence, the project serves the government’s objectives in enhancing tourism and preserving the beauty of the Dead Sea area.
Features of the project include beautifully made fountains, terraces, swimming pools, halls, restaurants, and gardens. It is fully-equipped with the required facilities and infrastructure to meet the public needs.
The JD 1 million-project was built in a way to harmonize with the topography of the Dead Sea shore, and enhance its beauty. It took GAM six months to accomplish the project. The Amman Tourist Beach is part of three projects built on a total area of 146 dunums, in which the earlier two phases were completed at JD 2 million.
