Beltaji: Amman 2014 Statement to Be Announced After the 100-Day Deadline

Mayor of Amman Akel Beltaji revealed during a meeting with citizens in a program aired at Hawa Amman Radio that GAM will announce the Amman Statement 2014 at the end of the 100-day deadline he requested from Amman citizens to sense the qualitative change in services. He continued that the statement will outline the road map of many issues in GAM including the Garages issue. He stressed that the coming phase of the GAM Council will be a start for a change in performance, thinking, and change towards interaction. He announced that the piece of land located in the east of Amman for the new garage is appropriate, and GAM is currently searching for other lands in east, south and north Amman. He also noted that the overlapping of garages within residential areas is a critical infrastructure topic he discussed lately with the Minister of Planning. Beltaji noted that GAM is considering re-setting opening and closing hours for occupations as restaurants and cafes within residential areas as well as uninhabited commercial streets. Amman Mayor criticized the reality of the Hazza zone in Marka District which is piled with scraps causing health hazards. At the end of the meeting, Beltaji pointed that GAM works on five major pivots to provide comprehensible services in all districts which are the (Environment and Hygiene, Public Works, Landuse, Finance, and the Organizational Structure of GAM).
