The US Based Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) , the world leader in GIS (geographic information system) modeling and mapping, has selected the Greater Amman Municipalitys Geographical Information System as the best among 100,000 one, GAMs Geographical Information Department said on Saturday. The ESRI granted GAM the Distinctive Achievement Award as the best user of the Geographical Information Technology, during the institutes 2008 - 28th Conference.
ESRI, established on 1969, will post the winning applications on its website: www.ersi.com/sag.
The Award will be officially announced on august 6 at the San Diego Conferences center in the US. The Department has recently computerized and connected all GAMs departments on the Geographical Information system (GIS).
