GAM Council approves the agenda of its seventh regular session

Jamila khair- Amman Mayor Yousef Al Shawarbeh, in his name, and the members of GAM Council and its employees, congratulated His Majesty King Abdullah II, and Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, and the Jordanian family on the occasion of Independence Day, which falls on the twenty-fifth of the current month of May.

The Mayor also congratulated the Christians on the occasion of Easter, and the workers of Jordan on the occasion of International Labor Day, which fell on the first of May, during the seventh regular session of GAM Council. 

The council approved signing an agreement with the International Academy for Community Health  aiming at training public health employees at GAM and building their capabilities to support the Municipality’s efforts in combating and controlling the spread of epidemics.

During its seventh regular session, the council agreed on signing an agreement with Al Hussein Technical University, with the aim of exchanging and developing knowledge, information and expertise, enhancing cooperation in conducting scientific studies and research, and renewing the memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Environment regarding the maintenance, management and operation of the national information and monitoring system for wastes in Al Ghabawi landfill.

The Council also approved renewing the memorandum of understanding with Al Sharif Center for Eyes to make discounts for the elderly category within Amman Elderly Friendly City Project organised by the Department of Facilities and Social Programs at GAM, and renewing the memorandum of understanding with the Department of General Statistics to exchange data and information.

The Council also agreed to authorise the Mayor of Amman to organise and sign judicial letters of attorney for the purposes of litigation and arbitration in the form approved by the Directorate of Legal Affairs, and to approve all previous letters of attorney at all stages, as the Amman Municipality Law No. 18 for the year 2021 was issued and the creation of many courts that were not included in the previous letter of attorney.

The Council approved the formation of the Board of Trustees of the Amman Municipality Library, headed by the Mayor of Amman, and the membership of the CEO of the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, the President of the Jordanian Writers Association, the President of the Jordanian Writers Union, Hussein Nashwan from the Ministry of Culture, the President of the Library and Information Association, and the former Secretary General of the Arabic Language Academy, Dr. Muhammad Al-Saudi, And the writer Taghreed Al-Najjar.
