The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) launched the Arab (Amman. Jordan, and Amman-Municipality. Jordan), and Jordanian wide website (dot Jordan) on the internet in Arabic. GAM is the first organization to book and launch an Arab- wide website; in addition, Jordan is the fourth Arab country to launch such website in Arabic.
The Executive Director of Information Technology, Eng Sakher Al Khreisha, said that this achievement is designed to facilitate viewing GAM’s website, to facilitate the utilization of the provided services electronically.
He further clarified that the services include "traffic rules and violations in detail, vocational licensing and the required documents, violations of vocational licensing and those of health, land due fees, structures and buildings taxes, streets and roads’ information, inquiries about careers, and complaints, which are all electronically followed-up by the respective Municipality departments."
The launch of (dot Jordan), came within the activities of the Communications and Information Technology Forum in the Middle East and North Africa which was held in Amman earlier this month.
