As part of its plan to reduce traffic congestion in the capital Greater Amman Municipality started the preparations for expanding the Queen Rania Street.
The project includes expansion of the street from the lane adjacent to the University of Jordan and reducing the central sidewalk toward Abdali district, by 1.5 – 2 meters.
Also GAM will fix an new fence of 1750 meters long, in the street , which will end by the university hospital.
The duration of this project is 70 days and would cost JD 266,000. It will help on solving the traffic jam in the street, which one of the busiest ones in Amman.
GAM also have several arrangements aims to reduce the traffic congestions including reprogramming of several traffic lights in various locations, major changes in the traffic flow in Sweifieh district, relocate the Abdali bus terminal to the newly built North Bus terminal in Tareq, beside implementing the Aqsa and King Abdullah intersections.
