GAM Specifies Conditions & Instructions for Licensing the Tents Broadcasting the World Cup Games

Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) issued the rules and regulations related to licensing the tents which will broadcast World Cup games of 2010 in different regions of GAM. The regulations are obligatory for obtaining an approval from the security authorities at the Capital Governorate before submitting the licensing applications at GAM regions. The instructions emphasized that the tents shall be of a good material, resisting weather conditions and fire; the tents’ locations shall be far from residential gatherings, in order not to disturb the surroundings, and using speakers is not allowed. The instructions requested commitment to the morals and public ethics, forbade using the tents for other purposes, like movies, or serving alcohols, which will lead to legal and administrative procedures. The tents’ owners are obliged to preparing parking lots commiserating to the tent’s space area, and to providing the conditions of public safety and health facilities. The licensing applicant shall have present to GAM’s fund a check of 5.000 JOD, as a guarantee bond to all the conditions, and to removing the tent within a month following the championship finale. Director of Vocational Licensing and Announcements at GAM, Eng. Faleh Al Shammari, said that in case of any violation, or claims form the neighbors, GAM shall remove the tent and pass on the concerned party the removal cost, with 25% to be added as administrative expenses, as well as retaining the heck value. According to the regulations, a sum of 10 JOD shall be paid as occupation fees for each m2 of the tent’s space area, taking into account that the regions managers have the power of issuing approval or rejection to set up the tent, upon compliance with conditions.
