The Greater Amman Municipality on Sunday launched the second phase of its project to develop and advance the Amman downtown area in cooperation with Taameer Jordan Holding Company.
The project is sponsored by Taameer by JD 100,000, to paint and renovate 18 areas in the capital.
GAM completed the first phase of the project in cooperation with National Paintings. It has painted developed and enhanced the buildings in several parts of the Amman downtown.
“The today’s agreement is part of a scheme that would cover Greater Amman in general,”
“We have a plan to complete the project within 3-4 years,” Eng. Mustafa Luzi said, adding that “this is a JD 3-4 million project,”
The agreement is in line with the two firms’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). “We are committed to the CSR,” Amman Mayor Eng. Omar Maani said. “GAM now has 28 other initiatives in connection to CSR,” he added, indicating that the municipality will continue this approach. CSR is a concept that organizations, especially (but not only) corporations, have an obligation to consider the interests of customers, employees, shareholders, communities, and ecological considerations in all aspects of their operations
The Municipality has already established the “Social Innovation Center” as part of its responsibility towards the society.
Taameer director Dr. Khalid Wazani stressed on the company’s CSR, mentioning some of its efforts in this area. “The CSR is an important part of the Taameer strategy,” Wazani said.
Meanwhile, Board Director of Taameer Eng. Khalid Dahleh said “We are proud to take part in such efforts that would make Amman downtown a tourism destination,”
Taameer Jordan is a public shareholding company working within the real estate development sector. The firm was established in 2005 with a capital investment worth of JD 212million.
