The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) announced that it did not demanded a government approval on not to collect the Lands and Buildings Tax from those who did not pay on time, according to Amman Mayor Consultant for Finance and Estimations Mahmmod Khlaifat.
Meanwhile, he said “ GAM will launch a media campaign to encourage citizens to pay their dues,” in order for them to benefit from the cabinet decision of last year, which said citizens who will pay their dues before the end of this year, will not pay extra for being late in their payments.
GAM has already signed a deal with the Finance Ministry to collect the Municipality’s taxes from citizens and institutions.
Khlaifat called on the citizens to regularly pay their dues and avoid delaying such payments, to benefit from the exemptions according to the law.
GAM also inform the concerned persons and entities of their dues by writing or through the media channels to help them on organizing their payments of taxes.
