GAM confiscated 30 tonnes of meat

The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) health department seized 30 tonnes of spoiled meat in Jiza District. The GAM Health department in cooperation with the Community Health Directorate confiscated the meat found stored in an unlicensed warehouse, Director of GAM Health Department Majed Shfaqouj said. The department seized the meat when it discovered that it was not “proper for human consumption”, he added. “The meat was stored poorly, in plastic bags and was frozen,” Shfaqouj said. “There were no customs papers available for the meat and we could not determine its origin,” the GAM official noted.GAM informed the Amman governor to proceed with necessary legal measures against those responsible for the meat, the GAM press office said.
