GAM holds "Let us Speak the Same Language" Workshop

Patronizing Mayor of Amman, Dr. Zeid Muhaisin, advisor of the Mayor for Local Administration Affairs and director of Mayor Office, opened on Saturday the workshop "Lets Speak the Same Language" which was organized by the Follow-Up and Quality Department at the Greater Amman Municipality. Muhaisin delivered the opening speech on behalf of Maani, in which he reiterated that GAM gives high priority to the well urban planning in face of the rising challenges of growing demography and urban development. He said that GAM is also takes care of the basic infrastructure services that ensure the safety of citizens as part of the "Integral Planning" system. He added that GAM "has an endless treasure of knowledge and planning structure and development projects, where its well-trained cadres play a key dynamic role on that regard". Muhaisin also pointed that GAM always stress on utmost transparency and clarity in its performance, which promotes its success and excellence. With this, he said, "we ensure that all GAM employees speak the same language. The continuing dialogue among the employees of same institution combined with the exchange of expertise and know-how help in building common language among all." On his part, Engineer Amer Attiyeh, director of the Follow-Up and Quality Dept, said that the workshop serves the relationship between the common standards of quality and their true applications at GAM departments and directorates, according to the findings of the five-year strategy that GAM has launched in 2005. Attiyeh said that GAM has a great capacity of expertise and qualified people that resemble the intellectual capital of any such institution and its powerful energy. These people also serve the development process at GAM, he added. Participants at the workshop have discussed a series of papers about strategic planning, the common standards of quality, quality management and documentation. The two-day workshop ended on Sunday with issues pertaining to knowledge management, quality applications at GAM and quality assurance at engineering projects.
