GAM is Finishing The Abdoun Hanging Bridge

Engineer Anwar Shunnaq, representative of Mayor of Amman at the Abdoun hanging bridge project, announced on Monday that the first two phases of the project were accomplished completely. The hanging bridge extends for about 425 meters, starting from the fourth circle (near the Prime Ministry office) and ends at Abdoun area. The earlier phases included the building of the required infrastructure, towers and holders. The third and final phase of the project is currently underway and features the cementing of asphalt structure along the bridge. Shunnaq pointed out that the Abdoun hanging bridge is vital for the traffic network in Amman, notably by linking with the internal circling road inside Amman, which extends for about 24 kilometers. The road starts at the Jamal Abdel Nasser roundabout, heading through Jabal Amman to Wadi Abdoun. It also extends to the eastern districts of Amman. Shunnaq said that Abdoun Bridge will also ease the traffic jams at the Queen Alia Airport Highway. Greater Amman Municipality is working now on building a 600-meter tunnel at Abdoun circle. The tunnel will serve motorists who head toward the Airport Highway, Al-Quds Street, and Yassmine district.
