The Greater Amman Municipality is launching on Tuesday, March 1, the advanced reproduction of its website on the Internet. The website, which was developed by GAM’s Information Technology Department, includes 20 more electronic services that provide direct access for Jordanians to the site, a fact that proves GAM’s commitment to enhance transparency and openness on all of its services and activities to provide the utmost quality of help for the citizens in Amman.
Eng. Daoud Abdel Noor, director of the GAM’s Information Technology Department, said the launching of the new website comes in correlation with the development process that GAM is witnessing on all aspects and activities, in a way to ensure the objectives that were outlined by GAM earlier. Abdel Noor said the department conducted a comprehensive renovation process for the website by turning it to be GAM’s main window for Amman’s citizens, who were granted the direct access to call the municipality and get the information they desire.
Abdel Noor also indicated that the new website provides a live transmission of updated news regarding the municipality’s activities that are printed through GAM’s Media Center. The website also provides live transmission for the Tenders Committee’s sessions, GAM’s budget sessions, its timely financial transactions, where citizens can observe these activities in more transparent manner.
The site also shows a link for citizens to file their complaints and demands that will be examined well directly by the concerned departments at the municipality. Another link was also introduced to survey the public opinion over GAM’s activities and services. Other links also present GAM’s publications and newsletters, besides the SMS service that GAM is providing for citizens to be informed about its services and traffic fines.
Herewith, GAM provides a clear and straight engine that includes GAM’s vision, its message, and the laws and regulations that stipulate the municipality’s function. This is in addition to a directory of services and a comprehensive map of Amman and its neighborhoods.
GAM also introduces its electronic media report that is prepared daily by the municipality’s Media Center, in which the report recounts the news published by the local, Arab and international media publications.
