Greater Amman Municipality began its operations to establish "Amman Martyrs" Park in memory of the innocent people who were killed in the terrorist attacks in Amman last Wednesday.
Board of Directors at GAM is expected to take a decision on that in its forthcoming meeting on Tuesday. The park is expected to include a memorial showing names of those who were killed in the attacks.
The board also is expected to name one of Amman streets after the name of the late Syrian film director Mustafa Aqqad who died on Friday of his wounds he received during the terrorist attacks. The decision is made in recognition of the great achievements that Aqqad has made during his career, both regionally and internationally.
Aqqad is best remembered for the movies he produced in the recent years, including "Risalah", which presents the true aspects of Islam. He previously produced "Omar Mukhtar" about the famous Arab fighter against the Italian occupation of Libya in the early 20th century.
Aqqad died in Amman together with his daughter, Rima, who was killed during the attacks.
