Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has recently updated its website with the aim of reinforcing communication and interaction with the local community. Such a move comes in keeping with the achievements, expansion, and growth the city of Amman has witnessed in the various developmental fields. The site www.ammancity.gov.jo reflects the vision, mission, and identity of the Municipality. Eng. Omar Maani wrote a welcoming note on the site, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you on GAMs new and ever developing site. The website is easy to browse and read; it is also interactive. We at GAM , sincerely believe in the importance of harnessing all communication tools to the benefit of our citizen. Among these tools is this website which is meant to forge wide avenues of communications, logically congruent with the 21st accelerating technological revolution which, in turn, creates a platform for a constructive, bilateral dialogue with the citizens and visitors of Amman. The Mayor stressed that GAM welcomes demands, inquiries, comments, and remarks cited by the citizens, which GAMs staff shall take into consideration as seriously and honestly as they can. The site reflects the identity of Amman in the design, color, and calligraphy of Ammans citys logo, which reinforces the proud feelings of belongingness. Many sections are incorporated in this new site, providing browsers with historical information, current projects and future plans covering all municipal fields and developmental and human initiatives. It also provides users with the services that saved time and efforts on the part of however wants to discover Amman. Services such as tender announcements, adverts and inquiries regarding vehicle violations, vocational licensing, property taxes, and others are all encompassed in this modern site. The site also allows for dialogue and interaction with the Mayor and senior officials of GAM. Agenda of the city events is also there on the site to enable citizens to participate and interact. It is also possible that users can watch still and video photos of the most important activities and events.
