The Greater Amman Municipality started a campaign from the beginning of this month to count vehicles number in the main streets to identify the traffic situation and to know the service level on streets in order to put the suitable solutions for future expectations.
The director of traffic engineering department Eng.Yousef Bourno said that this campaign will last till the end of this month as a first phase includes a manual counting to classify the kind of vehicles, and its track on the main intersections, pointing that this campaign will be in climax hours, Monday, Tuesday, from each week and its also includes Zahran, King Abdullah, Araar streets.
Bourno added that the campaign will includes an automatic counting round the week to see the daily changing.
