Greater Amman Municipality Supports "The Globe-Trotters Program" of Al-Hussein Irbid Club

Deputizing for the Mayor of Amman, Deputy City Director for Cultural, Social and Sports Affairs, Engineer Haytham Jweinat met recently with president of Al-Hussein Irbid Club, Dr. Hazaa Al-Batayna, and members of the clubs board of directors. In the meeting, which was attended by two members of the Sports Committee at the GAM Council, Mohammad Manaseer and Abdel Jaleel Zyood, Jweinat exchanged with Al-Batayna ways of cooperation, regarding the Municipalitys support of Al-Hussein Clubs "Barnamej Al-Rahhala" (The Globe-trotters Program). Jweinat said Mayor of Amman has approved GAMs support of the program. Jweinat noted that GAM is supporting the various sports and youth activities in Amman, by establishing playgrounds and sports halls that provide sportspersons with better spaces and environments to play their sports peacefully. He stressed that GAMs strategy focuses on supporting the programs, activities, and championships of the local sports clubs, and not only backing the clubs themselves. On his part, Al-Batayna praised GAMs role in enhancing the Jordanian sports, through its sponsorship of the various sports programs and activities that are conducted by the sport clubs. He also pointed to the Municipalitys incessant effort to develop the sports infrastructure in Amman, which certainly serves the sport clubs and the local community at large. It is worth mentioning that GAM has established 88 playgrounds in all of its public parks and gardens around Amman, not counting the King Abdulla II Sports City in Al-Qweismeh region.
