Deputy Mayor of Amman, Engineer Abdel Rahim Biqae received at his office on Monday a delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Municipalities and Public Works. The delegates toured the Greater Amman Municipality building as part of its visit to Jordan.
The Iraqi delegates take part in the development of human resources program that is organized by the National Training Institute.
Biqae welcomed the guests and briefed them about the tasks and duties of GAM and its key role in providing the top quality services for citizens in a way that conforms to the rapid development and meets their requirements.
Director of the Research and Development Department at GAM, Engineer Mahmoud Abul Ragheb has received the Iraqi delegates at his office and briefed them about the organizational structure of GAM and the training plan for its employees. Abul Ragheb indicated that the visit by Iraqi delegates gives them the opportunity to have a look about the GAM experience in administering the local authority, and explained for them the five-year strategy that GAM has launched in 2005.
Abul Ragheb also highlighted the main objectives of GAM and their relation to the national objectives that His Majesty King Abdullah II has often announced in the past to develop the administrative reforms in Jordan. Abul Ragheb said that the Research and Development Department at GAM is working to exchange services and transfer of knowledge to meet the upcoming challenges.
On his part, Engineer Amer Attiyeh, director of the Follow-Up and Quality Department at GAM presented a lecture about the GAM Strategy. He said the strategy was formed according to the world best standards since it serves the development process at all of GAM departments and directorates.
Attiyeh said the strategy will help in applying the main vision of GAM to provide outstanding and high-quality municipal services to all citizens. He also talked about GAM objectives, action plans and their funding. He focused on GAM partners who are mainly the governmental institutions and the private sector. Attiyeh said that the main features and aspects of GAM performance were outlined through the Royal letter from King Abdullah II to Mayor of Amman.
Mrs. Maysoon Daajeh, president of the Employment Division at the Human Resources Department of GAM, briefed the delegates about the tasks of her department, their procedures, and the affiliated sections.
At the end, Engineer Abul Ragheb presented the delegates with GAM Plaque as a gesture of honor upon their visit to the municipality.
