Job Fair and Careers Development for Professionals

Amman Institute for Urban Development recently held at Al Hussein Cultural Center a fair for recruitment and careers development of professionals in cities’ planning and urban environment design fields. The fair, which was inaugurated by Manager of Amman City, and Vice President of Amman Institute, Eng. Ammar Gharaibeh, aimed at creating opportunities for the promising capacities to participate in making the long awaited positive change in the local community by offering an innovative vocational model contrasting the situation of the local labor market. The exhibition was dedicated to professionals in urban planning and design, infrastructural engineering, civil engineering, environmental design, geographic information system management, social studies and public participation in cities, administrative and counseling services, and in graphic design. It also aimed at creating an interactive space to enable gathering of the professional capacities with the recruitment resources for interaction and exchange of information purposes in addition to opening distinctive opportunities of employment. The exhibition included instructive training presentations that are meant to guide the candidates in regards to fine-tuning their skills, how to demonstrate their vocational abilities, how to prepare the perfect resume, and how to do well in interviews. The one day exhibition kicked start at 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, and received a great number of university students and many interested people. It is worth noting that this event was sponsored by Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), Hawa Amman FM, Jordan Expo, Majalatuna, On Campus magazine, Nescafe, Mazaj FM, Beat FM, Mood FM, and CMCS Jordan.
