The Mayor of Amman, Engineer Omar Maani, recently inspected the Jabal Al Qala’a development project, and followed up on the work to fulfill the neighborhood residents’ demands by Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) departments, which were voiced during previous meetings Eng. Maani affirmed that the positive end results of the project will encompass the Jabal Al Qala’a region, due to GAM’s efforts to implement the requests and fulfill the needs of residents, enhance services, and bolster constant communication with them.
Eng. Maani was accompanied during his inspection tour of the project by GAM Council member Talal Al ‘Eifeshat, the Mayor’s Advisor for districts Affairs, Mahmoud Al Armouti, and the Head of Al Madeena district. Eng. Maani visited Al Qala’a Youth Sport Club, and several tourist facilities, in addition to inspecting the old and abandoned houses that constitute health hazards and annoyances to the residents of the region, and discussing with the residents how to address the nuisance.
The Mayor stressed the importance of continuing spraying and public sanitation campaigns, redistributing waste containers, upgrading environmental standards on all levels, and fixing the lighting in the location.
From another angle, Eng. Maani affirmed GAM’s support of all residents’ touristic and economic initiatives that will help strengthen the region’s development, stemming from dedication to increasing the public’s participation in decision-making, thus strengthening the relationship between citizens and their City.
It is worth mentioning that the Mayor of Amman looked into the residents’ requests and requirements at 2 previous meetings, during which he asserted GAM’s commitment, through its various pertinent departments, to fulfilling those requests.
