Maani Kick Starts Traffic and Youth Projects in Sahab and Husban

As part of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) celebration of Independence Day and the tenth anniversary of H.M. King Abdullah the Second’s assuming constitutional powers, the Mayor of Amman, Engineer Omar Maani, inaugurated, on Tuesday morning, Sahab Industrial Zone Bridge, at a cost of JOD 2,378,000. Eng. Maani stated that the project aims at developing the infrastructure, as well as effectuating economic development, through easing traffic congestion, maintaining the architectural nature of the intersection, and preserving the environment. He indicated that the elements of the project include expanding the existing bridge to encompass 3 lanes in either direction, and installing 2 traffic lights, thus completing all traffic requirements, road and wall works, and location and pavement coordination. Along these lines, the Mayor also inaugurated Husban Football Field, and laid the foundation stone for Husban Sports Club. Work on the Club is expected to be completed in 6 months. Eng. Maani stated that these projects fall in line with GAM’s objectives to sponsor sports and youth movements, and to establish the necessary infrastructure to allow youth practice sports and hone their skills. The project comprises a 5000 square meter playground, and stone chain works that include building a stone auditorium, metal fences and gates, and field turf works. The Husban Sports Club project aims at developing the sports infrastructure, supporting youth, serving the local community, increasing green expanses, and adding aesthetic elements to the City. The project includes a multi-purpose hall, administrative offices, and various services and facilities. During the celebration that took place on-site, GAM Council member, Mekhled Al Ghammar, expressed on behalf of the citizens of Naour province his congratulations, felicitations, and allegiance to H.M. King Abdullah the Second on the occasion of Independence Day and the tenth anniversary of H.M assuming constitutional powers. Al Ghammar also reiterated GAM’s accomplishments and projects in the region, the cost of which is about JOD 3,254,000. From his end, Head of Husban Sports Club, Yaseen Al ‘Awawdeh, commended GAM’s efforts in supporting sports and youth movements throughout the various regions. The inauguration celebration was attended by P.M. Adan Al ‘Ajarmeh, Provincial Magistrate (District Governor) of Naour, a number of GAM Council members, the City Deputy Manager for Public Works Affairs, the Mayor’s Advisor for Regions Affairs, high-ranking GAM officials, region’s dignitaries, and citizens. Within this context and as part of its celebrations schedule that will last until the middle of next month, GAM inaugurates today (Wednesday) the Investment Building in Sweifieh and the Families Development Association in Wadi Al Haddadeh.
