Mayor of Amman, Engineer Omar Maani patronized on Monday night the performance of the Palestinian Youth Orchestra at the Roman Amphitheater in downtown Amman. The concert was organized jointly between the Greater Amman Municipality and the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) in support of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.
The musical concert was featured with symphonic masterpieces performed by the 55-member orchestra revisiting works made by Beethoven, Caudally, Mozart and Brahms. Jordanian soprano Dima Bawab also performed at the concert with some of her operatic pieces.
The performance of Palestinian Youth Orchestra in Amman was made possible through joint efforts by GAM, JTB, Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the National Music Conservatory, and the Edward Said National Music Conservatory in Palestine. Members of the orchestra are youth brought together from the Palestinian territories, the Levant and around the world.
The recital was part of the Amman Summer Festival that GAM is organizing together with JTB to support the tourist products in Amman, and promote tourism around the capital, especially for local and foreign tourists. The festival was featured this year with much entertainment for all family members, including the children who enjoy a wide range of activities
