Mayor of Amman, Engineer Nidal Hadid emphasized on Thursday that Greater Amman Municipality continues the execution of its predetermined plan to control the public traffic in view of the tough weather conditions, such the ones happened last week when a heavy cold front hit the Kingdom and caused a chaos to the flow of public traffic around Amman.
During his tour around the capital, Hadid pointed out that GAM directorates follow up the updates about all the preparedness requirements under such circumstances, regarding the re-opening of streets flooded with snow in at once.
Hadid told reporters that GAM departments are doing their duties efficiently and were prepared for such conditions in a way to prevent any disturbances for traffic in Amman, notably at the main streets. Hadid praised the cooperation and fruitful contributions with all the concerned parties, including the Public Defense Department and Traffic Department in helping GAM on such efforts.
GAM has previously prepared five winches to help removing the inactive cars from the streets and ensure better access for traffic, and in cooperation with the Traffic Department. GAM also prepared 96 loaders distributed on 22 emergency rooms around the capital, including the main ones in Ras Al-Ain and Telaa Al-Ali areas. The directorates also helped in carrying out all the required facilities during the bad weather conditions to help citizens obtain their needs of fuels and kerosene for heating.
