Mayor of Amman Receives Ambassadors of Kazakhstan and Romania

The Mayor of Amman, Engineer Omar Maani, recently received the ambassador of Kazakhstan, Bulat Sarsenbayev, in his office, and discussed with his guest ways to bolster bilateral relations between the two capitals, Amman and Astana, in the fields of municipal works and tourism. Ambassador Sarsenbayev expressed his gratification over the strong ties between the cities of Astana and Amman, especially in light of the cities’ fraternity and cooperation agreement which was signed in 2005 in the fields of engineering, urban planning, the environment, culture, childhood, education, and IT. The meeting concluded with the Ambassador presenting the Mayor of Amman with the medal commemorating the tenth anniversary of the founding of the city of Astana. Eng. Maani also met with the Romanian ambassador to Amman, Radu Onofrei, and looked into ways to strengthen ties and exchange expertise between the cities of Amman and Bucharest in the different fields of municipal work. During the meeting, the Mayor briefed the visiting ambassador on the projects currently being implemented by the Greater Amman Municipality and its future plans with regards to comprehensive planning, public transportation, and the conservation of the environment.
