Mayor of Amman, Eng. Nidal Hadid received, yesterday, mayor of the Kazakh town of Astana, Mr. Umirzak Shukeyev and the accompanied delegation. During the meeting, the two men discussed means of cooperation between Amman and Astana on all aspects.
Hadid expressed his desire to exchange know-how and cooperation between the two cities, through the signing of twin agreement soon. He presented potential opportunities of cooperation in different fields, including economy, culture, sports and medicine.
Shukeyev, on his part, expressed readiness to have an agreement with Greater Amman Municipality to facilitate cooperation on both sides, and showed appreciation for the outstanding architectural development in Amman.
Shukeyev reviewed the development process that took place in Astana over the recent decades, in which the nation there relies mostly on its exports of oil and natural gas to neighboring republics, along with the medical achievements. Shukeyev extended hand to cooperate with GAM over the fields of economy, medicine and sports in the future. He pointed to the Union Consultants Co, represented by its director general, Eng. Saeed Abu Jaber, and Eng. Jaafar Toukan for their part in designing Astana Municipality’s building. The two men also helped in launching the first tunnel for traffic in the Kazakh city recently.
The visiting Kazakh delegation included Deputy Mayor, Chief of the Economic Desk at the municipality, and journalists. Representatives from the Union Consultants Co also attended the meeting.
