PM opens Mecca Street conjunction

Prime Minister Adnan Badran inaugurated, yesterday, the newly built Mecca Street-Abdullah Ghosheh Street Conjunction. Mayor of Amman, Eng. Nidal Hadid attended the inauguration. The new conjunction is the latest in Greater Amman Municipality’s similar projects around the capital, which today amount at 70. The JD 3.335 million conjunction aims at solving the frequent traffic jam and enhances the flow of traffic at the area. It is part of GAM’s development of Amman’s infrastructure that targets better environment and minimized pollution rates. The project comprises a tunnel along the Mecca Street extending for about 200 meters, with one-way traffic heeding from the King Abdullah II street (Medical City St) towards the Mecca Street-Madinah Munawarah Street Conjunction. There is also an upper bridge linking the Mecca Street with the Abdullah Ghosheh Street with one-way traffic. Besides its traffic aspect, the project also has facilities for wastewater network, power cables and beautification works. It took GAM three months to complete the project.
