Princess Alia Bint Al-Hussien Patronizes the Celebration of Womens Day

HRH Princess Alia Bint Al-Husien, patronized the Greater Amman Municipality GAM celebration of Womens Day that was held in King Abdullah II Sport City GAM Council member Bushra Al-Zubi said that the Jordanian woman has made great achievements in all spheres of life, thanks to the Hashemites since the Kingdom was founded pointing out that this is part of the civic development of the Jordanian society She added that the Constitution ensures that rights and equality be maintained for every member of the society without discrimination in all spheres of work and civil personal and political affairs noting that Jordan was among the first countries to give women the right to have a say in decision making. Ms Al-Zubi drew the attention to the fact that GAM is always keen on activating womans role in the society in developing and in maintaining continuous interaction with womens activities in all the regions through the socially specialized centers namely Zaha Center and Queen Rania Al-Abdullah Center During the celebration a success story of a blind girl named Sana Sidqi was presented the successful woman could acquire the general secondary certificate and a job at GAM notwithstanding the cruel circumstances she has been through especially that she is a mother of two Wissam Azar presented an exemplary story of Ahl Alhema despite the fact that she contracted cancer and could by pass it and go on with her life acquiring a Masters degree with an ambition to get the Ph.D Majda Afeef presented an environmental message as one of the countrys laborers who spent 31 years in her job during which she could meet all the needs of her immediate family and at the same time serve her nation A group of special needs people gave a sportive presentation in self defense arts while the poet Haleema Al-Abbadi recited a poem on the occasion HRH Princess Alia handed over plaques to a number of ladies who could make great achievements. On the side lines of the celebration HRH inaugurated an exhibition comprising a collection of tapestries handicrafts books food productions folklore dishes and clay arts.
