Singing, Dancing, Jordanian Folkloric Performances, and Face Painting on the 2nd Day of Amman Summer Festival

Activities of the 5th edition of Amman Summer Festival were in action on its 2nd day. An event which the Mayor of Amman, Omar Maani, announced launching its activities as of 18 to 31 July 2010. Greater Amman Municipality’s (GAM) Band presented, on the main stage, a show mixing Jordanian and Gulf flavors in their songs, by the singer Bassam Jbour, with the Jordanian folkloric spirit of the band led by Naser Al Harasees. The singer, Ibraheem Abu Ghareeb presented some of Abdel Haleem Hafeth’s songs. Al Khareqoun (the Incredible) performed Break Dance shows on Arabic and foreign melodies; this show was distinguished by agility, liveliness, and concordance of the dancers’ performance. The band’s member, Mu’taz presented a show on football arts played on the World Cup/ South Africa song 2010, which was greatly wowed by the audience. The Jordanian artist, Saad Abu Tayeh, entertained the Jordanian and Arab attendees, who gathered in Al Hussein Parks, Jordanian national and Arabic songs, in addition to the traditional songs “Chobi”, which the audience interacted with, by dancing “Dabkah”. He also sang “Dmou’a Shallal”, “Laiki”, “Yama El Hawa ‘Azzabni”, “Bas Esma’a Meni”, “Tawagnaha” and “Tal El Subeh”. On the kids’ theatre, Al Jamal Al Da’em (Endless Beauty) play was performed. Children also met many cartoon characters accompanies with music, Maktabati (My Library) moving shows, and face painting for the kids visiting Al Hussein Parks, as well as distributing balloons, and the Festival’s fan to them. On Tuesday, 20 July 2010, the Arminian Band (Sbedak) presented a show on the main stage, followed by the comic tableau of the artist Nabeel Sawalha, and the contemporary singing with the artist Tawfeeq Al Dalu. At the children’s zone, there was a graphic show titled “who loves Jordan More Than I do”, and performances by the Magician. It is important to note that this year activities include sport performances on the playgrounds of Al Hussein Parks, with interactive participation of Jordan athletes with the children, as well as exhibitions of plastic art, photography and handicrafts at the cultural village.
