Tyche Magazine in Print

The twenty-fourth edition of Tyche Magazine was published recently by Greater Amman Municipality. The magazine is renowned for its dedication to women performances and feminine production in Jordan. The latest edition featured a wide range of issues including a report on the late Jordanian television director, Victoria Omeish, as well as art studies and translations from world literature. The Editorial was written by Basma Nsour, who recalled the late Omeish, and her achievements at Jordan Television. She wrote, the most notable achievement made by Victoria was the documentary named "Sky of Marble" which focused on a Bedouin woman, Um Mishaal, who works in a stone-quarry to support her family. Victoria is also remembered through her outstanding weekly production of Yissed Sabahak (Good Morning) which is the most popular TV show in Jordan and abroad. Jordanian poet Jeryes Samawi and artist Mohammad Aameri also wrote about Victoria Omeish. Other issues include two by Dr. Rafka Doudin and Razan Ibrahim, who both talked about the psychological and social effects of discrimination against feminine productions around the world. Women writers were also highlighted by Dr. Abdel Ali Boutayeb, who argued about the Feminine Literature. Jordanian novelist Elias Farkouh also wrote about the American female writer Amy Tan and her productions.
