Winners of 11th edition of King Abdullah II Award for Creativity Announced

 Jamila Khair- Deputy Mayor Muhammad Rasmi Al Qaisi, announced, with the attendance of City Manager, Engineer Ahmed Al Malkawi, the results of the King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein Award for Creativity in its eleventh edition 2023-2024, during a press conference held today, at  Al-Hussein Cultural Center. 

Al-Qaisi said that this award,which is one of His Majesty King Abdullah’s initiatives to promote the culture of creativity and innovation, support innovators and scientists to achieve exceptional achievements that contribute to the progress of society and improve the quality of life, and enhance the role of science and culture in building a bright future for Jordan and the Arab region.

He added that the Award is a pioneering destination that motivates innovators, and scientists in Jordan and the Arab world to direct energies towards developing innovative solutions to achieve progress and prosperity in our Arab societies, as it is directed to Jordan and the Arab world.

The number of participants in the three award fields reached 142 participants from Jordan and the Arab world, distributed among 63 participants in the Arts and Literature field, 50 in the Sciences field, and 29 in the Arab City field.

The jury decided to withhold the award from the arts and literature field for the topic that was presented under the title (The role of technology in teaching the Arabic language, applications and content).

Dr. Ibrahim Youssef Muhammad Mahmoud from Egypt, won in the science field for the topic (Artificial Intelligence and Education, Opportunities and Challenges).

In the field of the Arab city, its issues, urban projects and research, in which the topic (New Cities: Opportunities and Challenges) was presented, the award was given to Dr. Ayman Ali Al-Omari from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The winners are honoured by a financial prize of $25,000 for each field of the award, a golden medallion with the image of His Majesty King Abdullah II , and a certificate with the name of the winner and the title of the winning topic .

The Award’s Board of Trustees is headed by Dr. Abdul Raouf Al-Rawabdeh, and in its membership, Dr. Adnan Badran, the Mayor of Amman, the presidents of the Jordanian, Hashemite, Yarmouk, Al Balqa’ Applied, and Al-Hussein Technical Universities, and the Secretary-General of the Arab Thought Forum, while the City Manager, Eng. Ahmed Al-Malkawi, supervises the award, and Ali Al Mashaqbeh is the award manager.

The King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein Award for Creativity is considered the only Jordanian award at the level of the Arab world, and is awarded once every two years in its three fields. It aims at distinguishing important works, in the field of literature, arts, science or projects related to the Arab city, and at building positive creative competition between Jordanian innovators in particular and Arabs in general, and supporting innovators and scientists.
