Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour attended a ceremony to honor winners of the King Abdullah II Award for Creativity 2014.
Jamal Amr from Jordan and Tareq Bakri from Lebanon were the winners in the arts category of the awards seventh edition while Ali Badran also from Jordan won the award in the field of science.
The award which is divided into the categories of art science and the Arab city is given every two years to municipalities organizations and individuals with projects resulting in substantial national and societal advancement.
Meanwhile the Greater Amman Municipality was the winner in the Arab city its issues and architecture projects category.
In a speech on behalf of the awards judging panels Ziyad Zuobi said the award is designated for any Arab innovator who contributes to the progress of the Arab nation.
Fourteen Arab states participated in the awards seventh edition represented by 57 competitors in the arts section childrens literature 18 in sciences solar energy applications and 11 in the Arab city section.
