Directorate of Communication and Media
The general objectives of the Directorate:
To manage public relations, official media, and social media platforms, and to manage and market the city's identity, in order to reach an effective communication that achieves a positive impact.
The directorate consists of:
- Amman Identity Department.
- Public Relations Department.
- Media Department.
The main duties:
- Provide strategic marketing services to ensure the promotion of corporate identity, brand, image, and city identity.
- launch awareness campaigns in order to strengthen the communication channels and link them to the pillars of the GAM for Environment, Health, Finance, Community Development and Emergency Readiness.
- Coordinate celebrations that reflect the image of the city of Amman and encourage and promote urban tourism.
- Develop and strengthen the GAM's relations with the Arabian cities, and other international organizations and cities, civil society institutions, and voluntary bodies in various areas of interest to the GAM's work.
- Supervise the official visits of foreign and domestic official delegations and participate in the organization of international conferences and workshops.
- Broadcast all news related to the GAM council, decisions about tenders, achievements, projects, and daily services in full transparency, promote them on various media platforms, and publish the news on the GAM's internal and external websites.
- Strengthen the partnership with media institutions to deliver true, clear media message, especially in terms of awareness, guidance, and counseling on various issues and services, which is a fundamental pillar for its success.
- Monitor, develop, and continuously update the GAM,s website, Intranet site.
- Monitor, develop and continuously communicate with the city's residents and consider their suggestions.
- Keep pace with e-development by developing and institutionalizing official social media channels to deliver services and address complaints and suggestions through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snap Chat accounts.
- Ensure that GAM communicates with the residents of the city and listens to their suggestions, highlights GAM's projects that aim to improve the quality of life of Amman residents, and follows up on citizens' complaints and field observations received on air.
- Media Mechanism Development Project.
- Regulate the mechanism for dealing with the city's identity.
