Directorate of Information Technology

 The general objective of the Directorate:

It is one of the directorates that serve other Municipality departments through advanced computing of the work of these departments, which in turn reflects positively on the work of the Municipality, in terms of advanced financial control over the Municipality’s revenues and expenses, and in terms of placing the Municipality in an advanced position at the national level in the use of modern sophisticated devices and their own systems which have all been developed with the effort of the Directorate of Information Technology, the number of staff of the Directorate is (157).

 Functions of the Directorate of Information Technology:
  • Conduct the technical studies needed to develop the work of the various Municipality departments using computers, automate all procedures according to their sequence, and provide an information base for the departments to be used by the department itself or by other departments.
  • Analyze the programming, application and maintenance of all computer systems in the Municipality as required by departments.
  • Make proposals that would increase the efficiency of procedures in computer-based departments, and provide a better mechanism for exchanging information and standardizing procedures between different departments.
  • Coordinate with other institutions that have connections with the Municipality in the field of information exchange and provision within an acceptable base for all entities.
  • Conduct computer and information training and education courses for Municipality staff, especially computer staff, and familiarize staff with computer capabilities.
  • Develop the technical specifications necessary for the purchase of computers and their accessories in order to serve the objectives of the Municipality, and follow up on the updating of their maintenance.
  • Maintain the operation and activation of the communication network that connects the Municipality to all its areas and departments.
