Directorate of Social Affairs (It has the following entities):

Department of Social Facilities and Programs.
Queen Rania Park.
Disability unit.

Functions of the Directorate:

Present programs, activities, and projects for all groups of society through specialized sections for children, women, the elderly, and young people based on the actual needs of society, using scientific methods.
Expand the scope of social work to include all areas of the Greater Amman Municipality.
Operationalize a participatory methodology between the Greater Amman Municipality, the local community, governmental and non-governmental institutions, and international organizations with regard to social work and its sustainability for the well-being of society.
Develop and train women with a view to creating job opportunities and raising their cultural, health, and social awareness.
Empower and promote the sense of responsibility of the family members through the provision of quality programs that cover all groups.
Hold national and religious festivals, carnivals and ceremonies.
Identify the needs of people with disabilities in Amman City for services provided by the Municipality and prepare and implement the necessary programs for this purpose in line with the Greater Amman Municipality's policy within the available possibilities and financial monitoring.
Contribute with official and civil institutions to establish events, activities and programs designed to assist people with disabilities and integrate them into the community.
Ensure the provision of supportive medical equipment and the organization of comprehensive computer courses, recreational trips, and various activities for people with disabilities from the Municipality’s employees and the local community.

Sports Affairs Directorate (It has the following entities):

Department of Sports Facilities and Programs.
King Abdullah II Sports City.

Functions of the Directorate:

Root the concept of sports and entertainment “health and life” so that the exercise of sports and recreational activities becomes an approach and behavior for the community, by providing a supportive and stimulating environment that helps to raise and educate young people, such as providing appropriate sports facilities and offering sports and recreational programs that meet their requirements.
Organize and hold sports events and tournaments in the facilities of Amman Municipality and according to the trends of the Municipality in providing a sports environment for the citizens of Amman and contributing to the realization of the concept of community health.
Supervise the Amman Municipality's participation in various sporting events and tournaments through the formation of teams and the preparation of athletes for these participations.
Establish promising training centers for the target age groups in individual and group games in the various areas of the Municipality and equip them with the required sports supplies.

Directorate of Cultural Affairs: (It has the following entities):

Department of Cultural Facilities and Programs.
Department of Public Libraries.
Al Hussein Cultural Center.
Zaha Cultural Center Department.

Functions of the Directorate:

Organize cultural events (theatrical performances, cinematic performances, art exhibitions, conferences, seminars, cultural evenings, book signing parties, etc.).
Manage artistic teams and the Greater Amman Municipality`s museums and cultural facilities.
Acquire artworks and market cultural programs.
Provide booking and organizing services for theatres, halls, amphitheaters, stadiums and squares.
Organize specialized activities for children and youth and market cultural activities.
Oversee and coordinate the main and branch public libraries and set standards that help develop the services provided by libraries to the city community, in accordance with global standards in library management and using modern technologies.
Manage and track library assets and holdings, including books, manuscripts, and publications and ensure their availability to library users, and provide knowledge services to researchers, using modern technologies.
Develop strategies that promote interest in reading and knowledge, and work to increase the number of
library visitors.
Establish cooperative relations with local and foreign public libraries, and enhance knowledge exchange with them.
Publish and print cultural books within the budget designed for that purpose.
Hold book fairs and participate in Arab and international book fairs.
Provide counseling and family services through seminars and awareness-raising lectures for parents and children, and receive, follow up, and treat children's various cases.
